Nicola is a Masters student at Mila and Université de Montréal. Her current research focuses on adapting an alternative fair vaccination strategy for disease outbreaks, which prioritizes more mobile communities. This places her work at the intersection of fairness, influence maximization, and network science. She also previously worked developing a framework for fair and private ML models using federated learning and differential privacy. Prior to this, she also studied demographic bias in recommender systems.
